Live at The Sidewalk

Hunter Cross and The Strays are headed back to New York, this time with Brian Birdwell. I’ve been looking for an excuse to make use of Jacob Nylund’s Layercake typeface, and what better way than to have it on the walls of East Village.

Real Tunes Checking Concepts

The concept was designed to appeal to college students who could earn iTunes downloads as a form of checking account interest. To battle short attention spans, we allowed for the user to “paint” with dynamically generate streams of animation themed around the genre of music they chose.

Created for the unveiling of CheckingFinder during the 2008 Finnovate Startup conference. CheckingFinder went on to win “Best of Show” and has since been covered by The Wall Street Journal, MSNBC.com, and Yahoo! Finance.

Earning iTunes downloads for conducting your everyday banking may sound easy, but it still required some explaining. What better way of conveying that information to a college student than putting it all on a chalkboard.

Branch Mapping

Financial institutions would often receive online applications from customers who don’t reside within the areas serviced. To reduce the number of unwanted applications, while working with a very limited space, we came up with a small interactive map that would show the branches and which counties they operated within.

As the leading provider of Web-based financial services, Online Resources Corporation serves 2700 financial institutions. At FIRST ROI we established a working relationship with them by developing this demo module showcasing ways of integrating our marketing strategies with online banking.

Youth of Promise Initiative Website

The 78744 Youth of Promise Initiative wanted a website that set them apart from the laundry list of links that usually make up the face of city-sanctioned organizations. Working together we developed a place where they could interact with students and their parents, and easily feature information about after school programs and upcoming events.

On a visit at the Youth of Promise Initiative office I ran into some kids who were spending their Saturday cleaning up graffiti on the East Side of Austin, it’s what happens when you get caught. They saw these and liked them, instant street cred.
